BAFTA TV Predictions 2016
It is 2016 BAFTA TV Awards day. On Friday we posted an article providing an odds comparison table to help you decide which market / bookmaker to place a bet on. Today we thought we would offer our BAFTA TV predictions showing who we think will win the main categories and why.
Drama Series – Wolf Hall. This show had dominated the 2016 TV BAFTAs having garnered 4 nominations, so we believe it is a shoe in for the main prize.
Lead Actor – Mark Rylance. Following up from his Oscar and BAFTA Film win for Best Supporting Actor, Rylance has the momentum and high profile to make him the strong front runner for the lead actor award for a performance we believe even better than his Bridge of Spy’s tur
Leading Actress – Suzanne Jones. Dr Foster was our favourite new show of the year, mainly due to the Jones’s wonderful performance as a wronged wife.
Mini Series – Dr Foster. Having read what the premise of this series we did not think it was one we would enjoy, but boy were we wrong. This compelling series kept us on the edge of our seats right through to the very end, offering some of the most tense TV moments of 2016.
Soap – Coronation Street. We don’t watch the Soaps, so can only go off the betting odds, who have Corrie as favourite, and we believe them.
Comedy – Peter Kay’s Car Share. One of the funniest comedies in years. Peter Kay is a genius.
Reality – First Dates. We also love Gogglebox, but it won in 2015 and it would be great if another equally original and entertaining show could win it in 2016.
As a reminder below is the Odds Comparison table we put together to help with your BAFTA TV Predictions.
