Could Jamie Bell become the next Bond?
As previously reported, Jamie Bell has been added to the list of possible actors to take on the 007 role, following confirmation that Daniel Craig will not be making any more Bond movies.
After directing the last two movies of the franchise, Sam Mendes is stepping down too and has recently suggested that the next Bond could be a surprise. He is quoted as saying
“I can guarantee whatever happens with it, it will not be what you expect. That’s what she (Broccoli) has been brilliant at, and that’s how it’ll survive.
However recently other more left field candidates have come out from more left field. Gillian Anderson has been suggested to become the first female Bond with BoyleSports offering odds of 16/1.
Most recently Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell has been made third favourite by BoyleSports to take over from Daniel Craig as 007.
Aoife Heffron, PR Executive for BoyleSports commented
“After we were forced to suspend betting, it appeared as though Tom Hiddleston had the 007 role in the bag, but former director Sam Mendes has put a spanner in the works sating that producer Barbara Broccoli doesn’t play favourites.”
She added “This has led to a newcomer to the betting in the form of Jamie Bell, who played Billy Elliot. He is not your typecast James Bond and could fit the bill perfectly if there is any truth in what Mendes has said, which at 9/1 for Bell to succeed Craig it appears there might be. Punters certainly seem to think so as we have already seen support for Bell to be the next Bond.”
