Eurovision Semi Final Betting Tips from Betfair – Semi Final 2

Betfair Exchange have published an article with their latest update on the market and Eurovision Semi Final betting tips for Semi Final 2

They firstly commiserated on their incorrect tip that Greece would qualify from Semi Final 1, and lamented Iceland failing to qualify, which noone seems to be able to explain. They self congratulated themselves on backing Russia to win, with the odds coming down significantly since the Semi Final.

Moving on to Semi Final 2 and Betfair’s tips.

In the Semi Final Qualification market Betfair are suggesting to back Norway at odds of 1.84 on the basis that it’s a good song, well placed in the running order and Norway have lots of friends in Europe with a strong Semi Final record. As it happens we at NoveltyBets made the same recommendation  in our own Semi Final 2 predictions and tips page, so we certainly support this one

Betfair also suggest laying Israel at 1.19 in the Qualifying market, on the basis that Israel have struggled to qualify in recent years, and the song does not have a good position in the running order. We at noveltybets really like this song, so not sure if we would pick on them as failing to qualify.

In the Top 3 market, the Netherlands caught Betfair‘s eye for the first Semi Final, and on the basis of yesterday’s performance they are confident of success. And think they can do the same for Semi Final 2, this time picking on Belgium to get top 3 at 3.55. It closes the show and is an upbeat song that should do well.  We tend to support this tip. Note the result will not be known till after the Grand Final.

See below their key recommendations
Recommended Bets
Back Norway to qualify at 1.80
Lay Israel to qualify at 1.19
Back Belgium to finish Top 3 at 3.55

Betting on an exchange gives you the opportunity to both BACK an outcome that you think will occur and LAY against an outcome that you think will not occur. You are betting against other punters and the bookmaker gets paid a small commission for each winning bet.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
