Saara Aalto new X Factor favourite
Emily Middlemas missed out on a place in the X Factor Final as she was the latest act to be voted off last Sunday night. Just three contestants remain for the weekend’s final and there has been a major flip-flop at the head of the betting.
Finnish native Saara Aalto is now the new favourite to win at 8/13 having been available at 9/4 just last week. At the start of the finals, Saara was the 100/1 outsider and odds on to leave for a few weeks
As a result, Matt Terry, who had been favourite from week one of the live shows, has seen his price ease out to a huge 10/3 from 8/11.
Boyband, 5 After Midnight, are the very slight outsiders of the remaining three at 4/1 as they bid to give Louis Walsh his second victory as a mentor in the competition having last mentored Shayne Ward to win back in 2005.
Liam Glynn, BoyleSports spokesperson said “The X Factor betting has seen a flip-flop with Saara Aalto taking over as the new favourite to win. Having been as big as 66/1 back in mid-October, the Finish native is now odds on at 4/5 to claim the crown.”
He added “Louis Walsh hasn’t been a winning mentor since Shayne Ward won in 2005 and despite his Boyband 5 After Midnight being the 5/1 outsiders, he can’t be ruled out.”
Its not so clearcut who will finish second or third with Matt and 5 After Midnight fighting it out. It will definitely boil down to tonight’s performances and the audience, who have often favoured a solo male artist – so it might not be so easy for Saara to win the whole thing
